Leading the Charge
The first female chair of the Academic Senate in more than three decades, Manuela Martins-Green strives to be the voice of the faculty.
Last year may have been the Year of the Rooster on the Chinese calendar but for Manuela Martins-Green, chair of the Academic Senate, it was the Year of the Office and of the UCR Student. Not since 1970, when Sally Sperling was elected, has there been a woman at the helm of the powerful UCR organization.
