CARL Residency Applications Welcome

Proposals for arts-based research in the Barbara and Art Culver Center of the Arts in downtown Riverside during the 2013-14 academic year may be submitted until Feb. 15, 2013. Three awards of $2,000 each are available to faculty and graduate students who are selected for the Culver Arts Research Laboratory (CARL) Residencies.

The center’s curatorial staff and Culver Faculty Advisory Board seek “bold, dynamic, experimental projects that engage with the Culver building and downtown Riverside,” said Tyler Stallings, artistic director of UCR’s Culver Center and director of the UCR Sweeney Art Gallery.

Successful applicants will have use of the Culver Center’s second-floor research lab and will make a public presentation as part of the center’s schedule of curated programming for 2013-2014.
