Be a Good Sport – Volunteer to Help at Athletic Events
Volunteers for UCR intercollegiate athletics get front row seats and a chance to be part of the action.
The UC Riverside Intercollegiate Athletics Department is seeking faculty and staff members who are interested in working as statistical and game staff, filling duties such as clock operator, scorekeeper and public address announcer, during UCR home events for women’s volleyball, men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, softball and men’s and women’s soccer.

UCTV Airs Gluck Dance Concert
“Gluck Contemporary Dance Ensemble: Action Figures,” a program featuring undergraduate students in stylized movement that metaphorically addresses the odyssey of college life, will air beginning at 6 a.m. Aug. 20. The program was choreographed by UCR faculty and set against a collage of music, varying from rousing marches to rhythmic tribal chants.

Campus Community Members Honored
Chancellor Córdova’s gives the UCR Medallion at her farewell event.
Five community members were honored recently for their continuous support of campus goals. Chancellor France Córdova presented the UCR Medallion to Barbara Robinson, Pauline McGuigan, Ron Stovitz, Amy Harrison and Cindy Roth. Each recipient also received a framed certificate that highlighted their contributions to UCR and the community, and a pin bearing the university seal.

Culver Art Center Project Moves Forward
UCR expects to award a construction contract for the Barbara and Art Culver Center for the Arts by early September, according to senior architect Darius Maroufkhani. If bids are favorable, construction will begin in early October.
