When the traveling museum exhibit “RACE: Are We So Different?” opens at Riverside Metropolitan Museum on June 3, Yolanda Moses will be one of the first to welcome the award-winning project to the community where her career as an anthropologist began.

Event Recognizes Campus Advancements, Promotions
On May 10, Chancellor Timothy P. White hosted a reception to recognize faculty who have been promoted. The program included a welcome from the chancellor and a reading of the names of those advanced or promoted.

University Club Hosts Annual Barbecue The University Club will host its 57th Annual Barbecue from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 5 at Ortega Park, off Canyon Crest Drive...Lecture Explores Improving Crop Yield Julia Bailey-Serres, a geneticist whose research on developing flood-tolerant rice is benefiting rice farmers worldwide, will give a free, public lecture on campus June 3 in which she will discuss solutions to the challenge of improving crop yield...Alumnus to Discuss Ardipithecus UCR alumnus Tim D. White, whose research team in 2009 discovered “Ardi,” the oldest known hominid, will give the 2010 John and Betty Moore “Science as a Way of Knowing” lecture hosted by the Department of Biology... Community Celebration Showcases Culture A Unity in the Community Celebration showcasing the cultures and talents of UCR students is set for 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, May 27 at Highlander Plaza. It is open to all.
